Martin Grahovski & Petar Tuhchiev are the director-duo behind Nostalgia Documentary Studio - a creative partnership shaped by fleeting childhoods and a shared instinct to seek the significance in the unexpected.

Their films are rooted in human connection - social cause documentaries that explore mental health, cultural heritage, environmental justice, and the quiet resilience of people around the world. From voodoo rituals in Ghana, to the polluted streets of India, and the voices of post-pandemic youth across Europe, their lens captures the emotional truth behind every frame. Martin, raised between Canada and Europe, holds a BA in Global Justice and Journalism from The Hague. His project 3 Minute Bulgaria became the country’s largest tourism campaign. He has collaborated with global names like Oxfam, Mastercard, Bosch, Volkswagen, UNICEF, and Canon Europe - earning awards including the IAB Mixx for Best Video Content.

Petar studied film in London (BA Film, Middlesex University) and moves fluidly between Bulgaria and the UK. His work spans feature films, branded content, and poetic documentaries - with clients such as Johnnie Walker, Nike, HSBC, LIDL, and Corona Extra. His films have been screened on platforms like Nowness and selected at major film festivals.

Together, they’ve created: – Stormflower – a 32-minute portrait of the emotional and physical fight against breast cancer – Beyond Stories – a three-part series exploring mental health and depression – To Sofia, With Love – a cinematic tourism film that won 2nd place at the Art & Tur Festival

At Nostalgia Documentary Studio, Petar and Martin craft stylised, human-driven films that echo with empathy, purpose, and a quiet sense of longing - telling stories that remind us where we come from, and what connects us still.
